Artist Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Military Art (General Category)
Answer:
Question: Military Art (General Category)
Answer:
Question: Why are "Artist-Signed" vs. "Veteran-Signed" prints different in value?
Answer: In the Military Art market, a print signed by both the artist (like Robert Taylor) and a famous veteran (like a Tuskegee Airman or an Ace pilot) is worth significantly more. The "Historical Signature" is often 70% of the piece's value.
Question: What is the "Remarque" and why is it a 100% price premium?
Answer: A "Remarque" is a small original sketch by the artist in the margin of the print. In Military Art, a "Double Remarque" can double the price of the piece. Collectors view these as a way to own an "Original Drawing" for a fraction of the price of a canvas.
Question: Does "Unit History" drive the market?
Answer: Yes. Prints depicting specific famous units (e.g., 101st Airborne, 8th Air Force) have a much more dedicated and "Sticky" collector base than general battle scenes. These collectors are often looking for "Accuracy" above "Aesthetics."
